Kotoko finished sixth last season but largely disappointed losing to the likes of Nations FC and Accra Lions at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Hearts finished 14th in the 2023-2024 season after finishing 12th in the previous season marking another significant dip for the Phobians after winning the Ghana Premier League title in the 2020-2021 season.

Football agent Ansah-Asamoah who is the grand-daughter of Ghana sports legend Nii Adjin-Tettey and doubles as a scout, pointed to the lack of proper scouting as the main reason behind poor results for the big clubs.

“The problem with Hearts and Kotoko is about getting good scouts for the team. If Hearts offloaded 20 players ending of July and registration ends ending of August, how long can they scout for players, the players will go for trial, will go through their system and understand the Hearts of Oak system of play before the league starts.”
