Super excited Borteyman Sports Complex is being put to good use after African Games& Dr. Ofosu Asare
Local Organizing Committee (LOC) Chairman of the 2023 African Games, Dr. Kwaku Ofosu Asare, has expressed his excitement over the post 2023 African Games use of the facility.
He said this in an interview with Channel One Sports on the sidelines of the final day of the Channel One TV National Swimming Championship.
The two-day event took place at the Borteyman Sports Complex on July 13 and July 14 with over 150 swimmers representing eight swimming clubs compete in various swim categories.
After successfully hosting the 13th edition of the African Games, there were concerns that the $145 million facility won’t be put to good use.
However, in the wake of the Channel One TV Swimming Championship, Dr. Ofosu Asare spoke about how delighted he was about the development.
“I’m super excited that after the Games, the facilities are being used. Particularly, the Swimming Federation has done extremely well consistently using the facility. When you have such facilities, you can unearth and develop talents. I’m very glad we are witnessing this very important competition.”
The second edition of the Swimming Championship had Legon Sharks Swim Club emerge as winners with GH Dolphins in second place and Marlins finish third.
