The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has given nine Division One League clubs buses to support their activities and promote football development.
The handover ceremony, attended by GFA Executive Council members, fulfilled a promise made by GFA President Kurt Okraku during last year’s 29th Ordinary Congress in Kumasi.
The buses were given to the top three teams from each Division One League zone after the 2023/24 season as part of the GFA’s effort to help clubs with transportation and encourage better performance.
The clubs are:
Zone 1: Young Apostles FC (1st, now in Premier League), Techiman Heroes FC (2nd), and Victory Club Warriors (3rd).
Zone 2: Basake Holy Stars (1st, now in Premier League), New Edubiase FC (2nd), and Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs (3rd).
Zone 3: Vision FC (1st, now in Premier League), Okwawu United (2nd), and Hohoe United (3rd).
President Okraku explained that the initiative is part of efforts to empower clubs and improve the growth of football in Ghana.
Football stakeholders have applauded the move, calling it a major step toward improving logistics and performance in the Division One League.
