Abedi Pele and Asamoah Gyan named ambassadors for 2025 African Schools Championship

Ghanaian football legends Abedi Ayew ‘Pele’ and Asamoah Gyan had been appointed as Ambassadors for the 2025 CAF African Schools Soccer Championship.

The tournament is scheduled to happen from April 21 to 26 at the University of Ghana Stadium in Accra.

Their appointment is a recognition of their excellent contributions to Ghanaian and African football, as properly as their dedication to nurturing young skills on the continent.

Abedi Pele, a three-time African Footballer of the One year, used to be instrumental in Ghana’s 1982 Africa Cup of Countries (AFCON) triumph and led the Black Stars to the 1992 final.

His club profession used to be equally excellent, winning the UEFA Champions League with Olympique Marseille in 1993.

Asamoah Gyan, Ghana’s all-time high scorer with 51 targets in 109 appearances, played the biggest draw in the Black Stars’ success at a few global tournaments.

He helped Ghana reach the finals of the 2010 and 2015 AFCON and represented the country at three FIFA World Cups, making ancient past as Africa’s leading scorer at the tournament.

In their roles as Ambassadors, Abedi Pele and Gyan will promote the championship, inspire young footballers, and make a contribution to the advance of grassroots football during Africa.

Their involvement will add prestige to the tournament while serving as motivation for the young avid gamers taking share in the event.
