Angola’s coach, Pedro Goncalves, has essentially ruled out Ghana’s chances of qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations ahead of their match on Friday.
The two teams will play in Luanda for their fifth game in the qualifiers. Goncalves said, “Playing against Ghana is always special,” adding that Ghana has excellent players, especially in midfield and attack.
However, Goncalves noted that Ghana’s chances of qualifying are slim. Angola, with four wins out of four games, has already secured their spot in the tournament.
Ghana, on the other hand, has yet to win in four games and has only two points in Group F. To qualify, Ghana needs to win their last two matches against Angola and Niger and hope Sudan loses both of their remaining games.
