The Paramount Chief of Kumawu, Barima Sarpong Tweneboa Kodua has hailed the New Patriotic Party (NPP), President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for the enormous impact of the Free SHS policy in Kumawu and the nation.
Welcoming Dr. Bawumia to Kumawu during his campaign tour of the Ashanti Region, the Kumawumanhene listed a number of projects the government has delivered for Kumawu community and Ghana at large.
He said; “Today, I won’t say much, except to give testimony. It has been 8 years now since you and your boss assumed office and I am only giving testimony about the great work you have done for Kumawuman and the people of Ghana…When it comes to education, the evidence is enormous. There is an ongoing STEM project. TVET too is here and many young people are getting skills training.”
The Chief emphasized that “Free SHS is the ultimate. Every child is benefiting. Because of the Free SHS, we don’t even get children to run errands for us. All our children are in school thanks to Free SHS”.
The Kumawumanhene added that Free SHS has not only boosted education but has also provided relief to parents and guardians.
“All parents need to to do is to get a few items for their children because of school feeding in addition to the Free SHS. This has really relieved parents. Education is on the rise here in Kumawu and it is because of Free SHS. This is part of my testimony today.”
The Kumawumanhene also commended the NPP on other development projects in agriculture, health sectors and within district assemblies among others.
In agriculture, he mentioned a National Service Scheme project in Sekyere Afram Plains and in health, the construction of a 120-bed hospital, all of which, he said, are providing direct and indirect jobs for people in the area.
He added the construction of an ultra-modern district assembly complex and further praised the NPP for the many road networks as well as the provision of equipment through the District Road Improvement Project (DRIP) to continue the road constructions.
He also expressed gratitude to Dr. Bawumia for his swift intervention in providing two pick-up vehicles to the community when he made an appeal to the Vice President over security concerns.
He urged Dr. Bawumia to keep spreading his good message and telling the nation about his policies, assuring him that Ghana will reward his good works.
