Any Pastor Who Condemns Adultery, Fornication, Or The Clothing Choices Of Worldly Individuals Is Misguided

Renowned gospel artiste and evangelist, Cecilia Marfo, has expressed concern regarding pastors who criticise sinners under the pretence of sharing the gospel.

The musician believes that chastising sinners for their wrongdoings will only alienate them. Instead, they should be encouraged and embraced to guide them towards Christ.

In an interview with Fiifi Prat on Kingdom FM on November 19, 2024, she mentioned that today’s generation differs from previous ones, as confronting sinners directly is ineffective; if they are judged harshly now, it may push them further away. She believes the most effective method is to support and nurture sinners to help them discover Christ.

“Any pastor who condemns adultery, fornication, or the clothing choices of worldly individuals is misguided, as we must not confront sinners about their sins but instead gently encourage them to turn to Jesus,” she stated.

She emphasised that pastors should refrain from criticising others while preaching the gospel, adding, “If you observe me preaching, you will be moved to tears, as I will make you realise that no matter how significant your sins may be, Jesus came for you,” she added.
