By Ashiadey Dotse

The Chairman of the National Sports Authority (NSA) Board, Seth Panwum, has announced that Baba Yara Stadium is ready to host football matches again.

The stadium had been closed because the Confederation of African Football (CAF) withdrew its license for international games due to the poor state of the field.

After maintenance work, Panwum told Channel One TV that the pitch has now been improved to meet the required standards.

He mentioned that Asante Kotoko and other teams will soon be able to play their home games at the stadium again.

“Baba Yara has been re-turfed, and the grass is now up to standard,” he said.

“We all keep working on it after each game and continue reviewing the progress, so we can confirm it’s ready and allow Kumasi Asante Kotoko back onto the field,” he added.
