Black Stars: Hamstring injury taught me a lesson& Joseph Paintsil

0

Black Stars and Los Angeles Galaxy winger Joseph Paintsil is looking on the bright side of missing multiple games to a hamstring injury.

In a post-game interview after helping the Galaxy score a 3-2 win over Portland Timbers in a Major League Soccer (MLS) game, Paintsil responded to a question on his injury with a positive outlook after scoring a goal and adding two assists in the win.

“I think the injury that I had taught me a little lesson because then I needed to also relax myself because I was playing a whole lot of games, almost a half-season in Genk and I came to continue the following season here so I think it has also helped with the rest because if not, my body will be really down and maybe I can get multiple injuries. I am really good the level that I am now.”

Paintsil’s production against Portland matched his production in the prior game against Colorado Rapids that also ended in a 3-2 Galaxy win.

The hamstring injury forced Paintsil to miss Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Mali and Central African Republic.
