Dark Stars Technical Director Winfried Schäfer is optimistic about reviving the national team, expressing self belief of their future performance.
Schäfer was once appointed to his role after Ghana failed to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Countries.
Schäfer’s job is to pork up coach Otto Addo and modernize soccer in Ghana.
“The affiliation president asked me to pork up Otto Addo and, as Director of Soccer in Ghana, to form a spirit of optimism and modernize soccer,” he defined.
Schäfer highlighted the team’s progress, pointing out, “We like a flash re-established solidarity inner the team, won our first two video games, and are now on a merely course to qualification.”
He remains optimistic regarding the team’s future, despite the challenges ahead.
The Dark Stars will take half within the Team spirit Cup, a four-nation match within the UK, later this month.
The match will characteristic Ghana, Nigeria, Jamaica, and Trinidad and Tobago. The team will resume their 2026 World Cup qualifying marketing and marketing campaign in September 2025.
