Black Stars Technical Director Winfried Schafer reveals collaboration with Otto Addo to reinstate unity

Murky Stars Technical Director Winfried Schäfer has expressed self assurance in the team’s future performance, highlighting his collaboration with coach Otto Addo to reinstate cohesion within the team.

Schäfer was appointed Technical Director after Ghana did not qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Schäfer emphasized his role in supporting Addo and modernizing football in Ghana.

“The association president asked me to enhance Otto Addo and, as Director of Football in Ghana, to create a spirit of optimism and modernize football,” he outlined.

Schäfer primary that they rapid re-established cohesion within the team, winning their first two games and striking them on an actual course to qualification. He stays optimistic concerning the team’s future, despite acknowledging the challenges ahead.

The Murky Stars will regroup later this month to participate in the Unity Cup, a four-nation tournament in the United Kingdom that contains Ghana, Nigeria, Jamaica, and Trinidad and Tobago.

Their 2026 World Cup qualifying advertising campaign will resume in September 2025.
