Roles and Responsibilities

As a member of the Senior School Leadership Team (SLT), the Head of the International School will provide strategic leadership and guidance to staff to improve the International Section’s programs.

The key roles include:

• Collaborating with the Executive Head and Senior Management Team to carry out the school’s educational strategy and policies.
• Assisted in the recruitment of teaching staff in coordination with the Executive Head and the Human Resources Department.
• Working with the Head of Admissions on the admission and induction of new students, including the creation of admissions examinations.
• Chairing International Section staff meetings, coordinating agendas, and resolving action items.
• Leading the review and implementation of teaching and learning policies, such as those governing marking, assessment, homework, exams, behavior, special educational needs, and safety.
• Aligning the Cambridge IGCSE with the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP).
• Creating an international curriculum in partnership with senior colleagues to satisfy students’ educational demands.
• Overseeing professional development and performance management processes for International Section employees, in collaboration with HR.
• Ensuring the school’s academic progress, includes raising educational standards and establishing assessment goals for IB PYP and IGCSE.
• Acting as the school’s interface with the IB and Cambridge Assessment, keeping personnel informed about curricular revisions.
• Promoting an environment of excellence, accountability, and student engagement in learning.
• Tracking student development, using data to set improvement goals, and ensuring students perform at their best.
• Promoting Datus’ mission, beliefs, and ethos throughout the school community.

KEY AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY

• Academic Coordination (IB PYP, Cambridge IGCSE, CAS) Tracking Assessment and Student Progress.

Qualifications and Requirements

• A master’s degree in education or administration from a reputable university.
• A minimum of five years of relevant job experience.
