POSITION: General Manager
Group Vivendi Africa (GVA), a Vivendi company, develops and runs FTTH networks in eight sub-Saharan African nations, serving approximately 2 million eligible consumers and employing 1300 people. Our product, CANALBOX, is gaining popularity, allowing the company to grow its market share.
To establish our new company and maintain our high standards, we are looking for a new General Manager in Ghana. The General Manager oversees all company activities and ensures that the Group’s aims are met. He is in charge of team management, strategy development, client connection building, and ensuring that targets are reached. Finally, the General Manager should be motivated by a desire to bring our company to peak productivity and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Launching and overseeing day-to-day operations with help from Corporate Exco, as well as setting and achieving performance goals.
- Be responsible for the correctness of the profit and loss statement and the monthly budget follow-up.
- Drive, manage, and control all activities within the company in accordance with the strategy and basics of GVA’s Business and Operating Models.
- Represent GVA’s interests in the country in accordance with the Group’s delegation regulations, including local authorities, the economic community, important clients, partners, and Vivendi group entities.
- Implement GVA’s strategic marketing plan, annual marketing plan, annual commercial action plan, and annual communication plan.
- Apply pricing policy, sales force commissioning policy, and GVA partner remuneration policy correctly.
- Implement and monitor the use of Group policies and processes.
- Assess and enhance operational and financial performance.
- Monitor market and industry developments to identify potential company opportunities and problems.
- Recruit, onboard, and educate top performers to help you meet your sales, profitability, and market share goals.
- Leaf and lead the entity’s executive committee.
- Maintain a positive social climate and healthy connections with union leaders.
Qualifications And Requirements:
- Proven experience as a General Manager or a similar executive position (COO, CCO) in Sub-Saharan Africa.
- Strong analytical abilities and strong communication skills.
- Business-orientated with an enterprising mentality.
- Problem-solving ability.
- Outstanding leadership and interpersonal abilities.
- Hands-on leader with a “can do” mindset.
- Significant experience in the telecommunications industry or the mass distribution of technology-based products and services is a valuable asset.
- Fluent in English. Knowing a vernacular language is advantageous.
