About the Role

We are thrilled to announce that we are looking for a dedicated Sales Representative to work from our headquarters in Accra, Ghana.

The primary goal of this role is to provide the Business Development Manager with technical, financial, commercial, and analytical capabilities in order to achieve Orica’s growth strategy, maximize financial performance, and reduce any risk associated with account, project, supply and capital planning, proposals, estimations, negotiations, and contract management.

What will you be doing?

  • Leading by example in SHE through personal attitudes and behaviours. Orica’s SHE Principles
  • Ensure that all legal, regulatory, and business safety, compliance, and environmental standards are met or surpassed;
  • Updating all information in the company’s ERP and CRM systems, including opportunity creation, follow-up, and market intelligence.
  • Performing BID and RFQ analysis and preparation, including financial models, system approval, internal alignment, business case development, presentation, technical value proposition, and commercial offers;
  • Ensure contract compliance through volume and pricing analysis, R&F formula governance, contract variations, margin leakage detection and rectification, resource model compliance, and risk analysis.
  • Analyzing account performance by assessing performance drivers, budget deviations, account profitability, product and service margins, TWC (DSO, DIH), CAPEX, RONA, and cash flow, with assistance from FBPs;
  • Creating and revising account plans, following up on actions with TMs and customers, and coordinating internally with all stakeholders to fulfill the actions;
  • Helping TMs improve customer experience, loyalty, and retention through site, operational, and commercial measures;
  • Assisting Marketing with Market Intel and the VoC Program for fast case closes, as well as ensuring compliance with Commercial Group Policies (GS 03, 11, 19) in partnership with Commercial Excellence.

What will you bring?

  • Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or similar fields.
  • A mix of technical knowledge, financial and analytical skills, and practical experience.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, and organizing abilities.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a competitive business environment, including at least 2 years of field/operations experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to discover and grasp the demands of a varied mining, quarry, and construction customer base, comprehend Orica’s distinctive strengths, and support the selling of relevant solutions to those customer needs.
