Job Summary
Our Airport Managers are at the forefront of our global operations. Their roles are diverse, reflecting the variety of customers we serve and the destinations we connect to.
You’ll have the autonomy to run your Airport like an entrepreneurial venture while adhering to the company’s guidelines.
Your responsibilities will include achieving ambitious targets related to safety, security, customer satisfaction, punctuality, and financial performance. Additionally, you will need to closely oversee several suppliers to ensure they deliver excellent service to British Airways and our passengers.
In the event of any issues, prompt and efficient resolution will be essential. You’ll collaborate with key stakeholders for British Airways, including government agencies, airport operators, and suppliers.
What You Will Do
- Ensure that your airports adhere to the highest safety standards and regulations. This entails following all relevant guidelines and supporting the airline’s safety protocols.
- Conduct audits regularly and address any required follow-ups promptly.
- Guarantee that all customers receive exceptional service at every point of contact with us and resolve any issues swiftly and effectively.
- Ensure your airports are punctual each year and contribute to the overall efficiency of your organization.
- Prepare your airport for potential challenges by having contingency plans in place for maintaining operations and managing emergencies.
- Equip the airport with the necessary resources to provide excellent service to our customers.
- You are accountable for the performance of team members at your airports. Empower your teams to make decisions that benefit customers and enhance operational effectiveness.
- Ensure that your airport’s annual financial plan aligns with British Airways’ financial requirements and is submitted on time.
- Assist with procurement for your airports. Lead and oversee inquiries related to safety, security, personnel, customer service, internal controls, and operations.
- Identify opportunities for service improvement and initiate ideas that can drive revenue growth.
- Facilitate local changes by adhering to the company’s change management guidelines.
- Manage relationships between British Airways and key stakeholders, such as Ground Handling Suppliers, Airport Authorities, the Airport Operators Council, local and government officials, as well as British Embassies and High Commissions.
- Maintain clear communication with internal and external parties, acting as the information liaison for British Airways in your region. Keep systems updated and accurately reflect the current status of your area.
- Communicate effectively and promptly with the Senior Vice President, Regional General Manager, and Network Operations regarding any potential or actual operational issues, always prioritizing the customer’s interests.
- Provide support to the Regional Airport Manager and other Airport Managers as needed.

- Possesses in-depth knowledge of airport operations, both airside and landside, along with a clear understanding of airport regulations. Experienced in managing and leading change through established change management methodologies.
Your Experience:
- Proficient in both spoken and written English.
- Required to obtain an airside pass.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (O365).
- Previous experience in an airport setting is advantageous.
