FC Barcelona trashed Real Madrid 5-2 to clinch 15th Spanish super cup title

Football club Barcelona on Sunday January 12, 2025 clinched a record 15th super cup title after trashing their Spanish counter parts Real Madrid, 5-2 in the 2025 Spanish super cup final at the King Abdullah sport city stadium in Saudi Arabia.

In the early embers of the game French super star Kylian Mbappé pulled a trigger past Wojciech Szczesny to put Real Madrid in the lead against Barcelona.

Lamine Yamal in the 22nd minutes restored Barcelona’s priority after picking up a pass from Robert Lewandowski which saw him break through the defensive line of Real Madrid and smashed it past Thibaut Courtois.

Hansi Flick’s abled men took over the game completely increasing their goal tally to four after Lamine Yamal’s equalizer kind courtesy Robert Lewandowski, Raphihna and Balde.

Carlo Anceloti’s men were left chasing shadows few minutes into the second half after Raphihna scored his second goal in the 48th minute making it five for Barcelona.

In the 56th minutes Wojciech Szczesny was sent of after committing a foul against Kylian Mbappé which gave Real Madrid the second goal after Rodrigo Goes curled it past Inaki Pena from a direct free-kick.

The 5-2 victory for FC Barcelona marks the second emphatic victory against Real Madrid this season after beating them 4-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu.
