Five Elmina Sharks officials fined and banned for misconduct

The Ghana Soccer Affiliation (GFA) Disciplinary Committee has fined five officials of Elmina Sharks GHS 10,000 every and banned them for the remainder of the season after they were chanced on responsible of misconduct at some level of a league match against Swedru All Blacks United FC on February 16, 2025.

George Wiredu, Seth Armstrong, Kelvin Aboagye, Joshua Kyibazah, and Kingsley Arthur unlawfully invaded the pitch to confront match officials over a penalty decision. They were also chanced on responsible of inciting violence and attempting to assault referees after the game.

The GFA has warned that to any extent additional misconduct will attract excessive sanctions. Alongside the bans, the officials have to every pay GHS 10,000 as section of their punishment.

This ruling bars them from collaborating in any football-connected activities for the remainder of the season.
