GFA has done very well for Women’s Football& Yusif Basigi

Ghana’s National Under 20 Women’s National Team (Black Princesses) head coach, Yusif Basigi, has commended the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for its efforts to improve women’s football.

He said this in an exclusive interview with Channel One Sports on the sidelines of the 2024 Ghana Football Awards that had the veteran trainer named as the Women’s Coach of the Year.

Basigi, who doubles as head coach of Women’s Premier League side, Hasaacas Ladies, spoke glowingly about Hasaacas striker Mukarama Abdulai after the latter picked up the Female Home-Based Footballer of the Year Award. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

In the aftermath of the Awards, Basigi is in camp with 35 players of the Black Princesses preparing for the 2024 FIFA Women’s Under 20 World Cup in Colombia and praised the GFA for its work in women’s football.

“The GFA has done very well for women’s football in particular. We have to pay a lot of compliment to the GFA for the effort that the President has put on for the love he has for women’s football. We are also doing everything possible to reciprocate with the kind of support that he has for us.”
