GFA reveals unsuccessful engagement attempts with Nsoatreman FC

The Ghana Soccer Association (GFA) has disclosed that a couple of engagements with Nsoatreman FC to handle their concerns were unsuccessful, no longer at present leading to the membership’s withdrawal from the Ghana Premier League.

Nsoatreman formally notified the GFA of their decision on March 14, 2025, citing safety concerns following incidents in fits against Asante Kotoko and FC Samartex 1996. The withdrawal follows months of unrest precipitated by the tragic killing of Asante Kotoko fan Nana Pooley in February, which resulted in arrests, including that of Nsoatreman proprietor Ignatius Baffuor Awuah. The league modified into therefore suspended for a month to implement safety reforms.
