Ghanaian actor Prince David Osei took to social media to share his thoughts on the role of celebrities in politics.
A known supporter of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Osei emphasized the importance of active participation in decision-making processes, regardless of one’s status.
“As a celebrity, I have a unique perspective on politics. My intention is to serve, even if it comes at a personal cost. I am driven by my determination to make a difference, no matter the price,” Osei wrote.
In a post on social media he shared that, “My motivation stems from this unwavering commitment. While I cannot speak for other celebrities, I strongly believe that each of us should actively participate in the decision-making process.
Regardless of our status, our voices hold weight, and our followers, who often seek guidance from us, share this mindset.”
Osei stressed the necessity for celebrities to contribute to discussions shaping society. “It is essential for all of us to contribute to discussions that shape the world we live in. Let’s embrace our responsibility and influence for the betterment of society,” he added.
He also called for respectful discourse, noting, “Insults won’t bring the change we seek! Let’s engage in respectful discussions, respecting everyone’s opinion and expressing ours without malice.”
The actor’s statement has sparked conversations about the influence of celebrities in political spheres and the responsibilities that come with their public platforms.
