‘Government doesn’t value sports’ Wilson Arthur criticises budget allocation

Chairman of the FA Cup, Wilson Arthur, has criticized the authorities for its perceived lack of dedication to sports vogue, arguing that the dispensed budget is insufficient to foster growth in the sphere.

Closing month, the Parliament of Ghana authorized a GHS 65,899,456 allocation for the Ministry of Sports and Recreation for the 365 days ending December 31, 2025.

Arthur, talking to Luv Sports, expressed disappointment over the budget, pointing out that it undermines the significance of sports in the nation.

Arthur emphasized the need for a faithful sports fund to pork up the vogue of sports in Ghana.

“It’s either the authorities has a notion B to raise funding, or they don’t cost sports,” he stated.

He urged that the authorities also can facilitate the appearance of this form of fund rather then straight away finance it.

He further proposed that the authorities also can generate earnings for this sports fund by investing in local skills and offering ample pork up for national teams.
