I feel so motivated to be in the English Premier League- Fatawu Issahaku

Ghana Black Stars winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has expressed how highly motivated he is to compete in the English Premier League.

Issahaku, while on loan, helped Leicester City gain promotion to the league after dropping down to the Championship following the 2021-2022 season.

Just a year later, The Foxes topped the EFL Championship standings to get back into the elite division and Issahaku is delighted he gets the chance to compete in the league after penning a five year permanent deal with Leicester.

During his loan spell with Leicester from Sporting Lisbon, the former Dreams FC player contributed seven goals and 13 assists in 43 games in all competitions.

“It’s so good to be back and I’m just back to focus again for next season. I feel so much motivation to be in the Premier League. It’s something new to me. I’m going to go hard for that, with the team” he said in an interview with Leicester City media.

Issahaku was praised by Black Stars teammate Mohammed Kudus for the former’s brilliant exploits with Leicester in Kudus’ speech after he picked up the Best Footballer of the Year at the 2024 Ghana Football Awards. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
