Joseph Asare Bediako has stepped down as the head coach of Young Apostles FC after a challenging start to the Ghana Premier League season. This decision was confirmed following the team’s disappointing match against Bibiani Goldstars FC on Sunday.
Bediako, who joined Young Apostles for the 2024-25 season, managed to secure only two wins in the team’s last ten games, with four draws and four losses. His appointment came with high hopes, but the team’s struggle to secure consistent wins created pressure for both the coach and the club’s management.
In a short statement, Bediako expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead the team and took responsibility for the results. “It’s been a difficult period for the team. I take full responsibility and believe stepping aside is the best decision to allow new energy to drive the team forward,” he said.
Young Apostles have not yet announced a replacement for Bediako. The team is currently just two points above the relegation zone, and they need to improve quickly to avoid slipping further down the league standings.
