Ghanaian media personality, Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD), has endorsed the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flag bearer, John Dramani Mahama, as the next President of Ghana.

Speaking at the NDC 2024 election campaign launch in Tamale on Saturday, KOD expressed his strong support for Mahama’s leadership.

“All my friends and I have a strong conviction that we need that change we’ve been yearning for. That’s why I stand here today to endorse His Excellency John Dramani Mahama as the next President of the Republic of Ghana,” KOD stated.

He praised Mahama’s leadership and vision, especially in the current turbulent times in the country’s history. Highlighting Mahama’s political journey from serving the people of Bole-Bamboi in 1996 to becoming the commander-in-chief, KOD expressed confidence in Mahama’s capability to elevate Ghana to the next level.

“I endorse President Mahama because he embodies the leadership and vision our country needs. He truly has the youth of this country at heart. I believe in him because he’s a leader who accepts when he’s at fault and makes an effort to rectify the situation. I have no doubt that John Mahama’s 24-hour economy plan will create decent jobs for the youth in all sectors, including the creative arts and hospitality sectors.”

He also highlighted Mahama’s promise to train 1 million Ghanaians in coding and invest 3 billion Ghanaian Cedis into ICT to create 300,000 jobs.

He emphasized the urgency for change, pointing out the numerous young people who have completed university but remain unemployed.

“To the youth of this country, is this how you want to live? No. I encourage your family members, call your friends, anyone who is above 18 years, go out in your numbers on the 7th of December to vote for John Dramani Mahama,” KOD urged.

KOD’s endorsement adds to the momentum of Mahama’s campaign, as the NDC aims to secure victory in the upcoming elections.
