POSITION: Senior Risk and Compliance Officer

Job Description

Business Partnership and Advisory

  • Collaborate with top leaders in the organization to connect their objectives with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) requirements, thereby bringing value to strategic and operational decisions.
  • Establish strong, trusting connections with stakeholders to ensure that GRC viewpoints are properly integrated into business objectives and processes.
  • Prepare and present risk and compliance reports, insights, and recommendations to senior teams, as well as first-line performance, emphasizing critical trends.

Compliance Management

  • Collaborate with management to understand corporate objectives, regulatory needs, and relevant group-wide standards, policies, and frameworks.
  • Provide staff training and advise on governance, risk, and compliance issues.
  • Responsibilities include managing and executing a second-line monitoring and assessment program for Anti-Money Laundering/Counter-Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF), as well as improving and maintaining relevant policies and procedures.
  • Oversight responsibilities include Data Protection Supervisor and Anti-Money Laundering Reporting Officer.

Risk Management and Mitigation

  • Ensure complete risk oversight across all layers of the business segments, including strategic, tactical, operational, process, and project risks.
  • Lead and/or enable the discovery, classification, monitoring, and reporting of risks at all levels, ensuring that they are consistent with the organization’s risk appetite and governance framework.
  • Synthesize risk assessment results to detect gaps, inconsistencies, or developing concerns, and then translate these insights into actionable recommendations for business units.
  • Regularly report on risk gaps and create action plans to generate significant and quantifiable improvements in risk management at all levels.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of risk management plans, mitigation techniques, and contingency plans aimed at achieving corporate objectives.
  • Continuously monitor the risk environment to detect emerging risks and report on trends and events that may have an impact on the business.
  • Facilitate risk assessment and review meetings to ensure that risk controls are effective and in line with the organization’s risk appetite.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to implement or improve controls in response to organizational transformations, as well as aid with automation and testing as needed.

Financial Risk Management

  • Manage and implement Financial Risk Management according to the Financial Risk Management Framework.
  • Provide second-line monitoring for financial risk management operations.
  • Investigate risk appetites for various sorts of hazards while taking into account business strategy, financial objectives, inherent risk factors, expected returns for different types of risk, and diversification benefits.
  • Determine explicit targets and limits for various categories of risk, such as capital at risk and earnings at risk.
  • Model possible future scenarios, taking into account changes in economic, investment market, and business situations, in order to advise management on prospective outcomes and management actions that may be made to protect the organization.
  • Create resolution and recovery plans for bad scenarios.

Risk and Compliance Culture

  • Manage risk and compliance officers to ensure the execution of the risk and compliance operational plan.
  • Help CRO and Line 1 Management identify ways to strengthen the risk and compliance culture.
  • Participate and contribute to relevant deep dives and assessments of strategic programs.
  • Establishes and embeds compliance within the area of responsibility. Ensures compliance within the area by implementing a compliance risk management and monitoring plan. Reports compliance violations to line management and the Senior Compliance Officer/Compliance Executive. Facilitates the resolution of compliance violations. Assists in reducing compliance risk. Utilizes little laws, and the impact of legislation on the business unit/functional area is restricted.”

Responsibilities

  • Regulatory and Compliance Management: Investigate all types of occurrences and reports while providing expert guidance to more senior colleagues. Reduce risk exposure and ensure compliance with regulatory standards by collaborating with all corporate functions to ensure compliance initiatives are appropriately implemented.
  • Regulatory Affairs: Accept responsibility for managing and delivering a certain work program.
  • Quality Management System: Contribute to the identification and evaluation of current policies and business processes covered by the quality management system (QMS); contribute to the QMS’s design; provide specialist quality management input to the drafting of new policies and procedures, as well as the design of business processes; and contribute to the quantification of the costs and business benefits of change.
  • Audit Compliance: Maintain a portfolio of audit tasks. Ensure that the team develops and conducts audits that address identified risk areas, and that relevant remedial measures are agreed upon with auditees. Resolve audit issues and escalate critical or contentious matters to the audit program leader.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Contribute stakeholder engagement by identifying stakeholders, learning about their needs, issues, and concerns, responding to these needs, issues, and concerns, organizing meetings and events, and developing supporting materials to encourage understanding and commitment.
  • Policy Development and Implementation: Work within established procedures to attain certain aims.
  • Organizational Capability Building: Provide coaching to team members to help them improve their skills.
  • Information and Business Advice: Resolve queries from internal or external customers or suppliers by providing information on complex procedures and related policies, and sending concerns to others as needed for policy interpretation.
  • Document Preparation: Organize and create complex papers with a number of technology programs, including standard office software. Also in charge of gathering and summarizing data for special reports.
