Legon Cities undecided on Division One League zone after Premier League relegation
Legon Cities are but to decide which zone they’ll compete in for the 2025/26 Division One League season following their relegation from the Ghana Premier League.
This has been confirmed by the membership’s Communications Director, Kwame Dwomoh-Agyemang.
The membership within the foundation qualified to the high flight from Zone I, which covers the northern sector, but their 2019 rebranding and relocation to Accra positioned them as a southern membership, making Zone III the seemingly destination. Nonetheless, there is silent uncertainty because the membership weighs its alternatives.
“It’s any other headache. It’s any other conversation,” Dwomoh-Agyemang told Sporty FM. “You’re working a enterprise, so it be significant to be the place the personnel is. But when you accelerate support to Zone I, they’ll query why you’re returning after taking the personnel out. It’s tough.”
He revealed that after the defeat to Countries FC that sealed their relegation, interior discussions started about their future route. “After the game that confirmed our relegation, I spoke with our administrator. We were questioning how we’d even be purchased in [WA].”
He added that a last resolution will seemingly be communicated after the season ends.
