STRONGS G158:
αἴτιος, , -ον, that in which the cause of anything resides, causative, causing. Hence,
1. αἴτιος the author: σωτηρίας, Hebrews 5:9 (the same phrase is frequent in secular writings; cf. the opposite αἰ. τῆς ἀπωλείας in Bel and the Dragon, verse 41; τῶν κακῶν, 2 Macc. 13:4; Lucian, Tim. 36, Lipsius edition; τῶν ἀγαθῶν, Isocr. ad Phil. 49, p. 106 a.; cf. Bleek on Heb. vol. 2:2, p. 94f.).
2. τὸ αἴτιον equivalent to αἰτία;
