V. vaunt oneself): 1 Corinthians 13:4 (Antoninus 5, 5; the compound ἐμπερπερεύεσθαι is used of self-display, employing rhetorical embellishments in extolling one's self excessively, in Cicero, ad Attic. 1, 14. Hesychius περπερεύεται. κατεπαίρεται); Cf. Osiander (or Wetstein) on 1 Corinthians, the passage cited (Gataker on Marc. Antoninus 5, 5, p. 143).
