Isaiah
Chapter 59
(Passion Bible)
Isaiah 59
Ready to read
1
Truly Yahweh’s arm is not too powerless to save you
2
Rather, your sinful deeds have built a barrier
3
For your hands are stained with blood
4
No one seeks true justice;
5
They hatch harmful plots like snake’s eggs
6
Their “webs” cannot substitute as clothing,
7
Their feet eagerly run after evil,
8
They know nothing of the way of peace,[3]
9
For this reason, justice is far from us
10
We are like the blind groping along a wall,
11
We are frustrated, growling like bears,
12
For our many rebellious deeds are stacked high before you;
13
We have rebelled and even tried to deny Yahweh;
14
Justice is driven away
15
Yes, truth has disappeared,[7]
16
And then he was astonished to see that there was no champion,[8]
17
He put on righteousness as his body armor,[11]
18
He will repay wrath to his enemies
19
From the west to the lands of the rising sun,
20
“He will come to Zion as a Kinsman-Redeemer
21
“And this is my covenant promise with them,”[14]
