Jeremiah
Chapter 10
(Passion Bible)
Jeremiah 10
Ready to read
1
Israel[1]! Hear the word Yahweh speaks to you.
2
Yahweh says:
3
For the religious practices of the nations are delusions.[4]
4
He adorns his idol with silver and gold
5
Their idols are like speechless scarecrows standing in a field;
6
Yahweh, there is no God like you;[5]
7
King of the nations,
8
What wisdom could they glean from a block of wood?
9
They cover their idols with beaten, refined silver[7]
10
Only Yahweh is the true and living God,
11
“Say to them:[11]
12
Yahweh made the earth by his glorious power
13
When he speaks, the heavenly ocean roars!
14
Everyone is ignorant, knowing nothing.
15
What they make is worthless—nothing but a joke!
16
You idols are nothing like Yahweh,
17
Jerusalem, you besieged city, pack up your belongings
18
For Yahweh says:
19
Woe is me[14]—my brokenness!
20
But my tent[15] has been torn down,
21
For the leaders[17] of the nation are foolish,
22
Look, there is news to report!
23
Now, I know, O Yahweh,
24
Correct us, Yahweh, according to what is right,
25
Vent your anger and pour it out
