Chapter 15
(Passion Bible)
Jeremiah 15
Ready to read
1
Then Yahweh said to me: “Even if Moses and Samuel[1] stood before me to intercede for these people, I would not turn my heart back to them. Send them away from me and make them go.
2
And if they ask you, ‘Where are we to go?’ answer them, ‘Here is what Yahweh says:
3
For Yahweh says, “I will send them four destroyers—the sword to slay, the dogs to drag away, the wild animals to devour, and the birds of prey to consume them.
4
I will make them a horrible sight that will shock the entire world because of the wicked things King Manasseh son of Hezekiah of Judah did in Jerusalem.”[2]
5
Yahweh says,
6
I, Yahweh, say to you:
7
I threw you to the wind like straw,[3]
8
Their widows became more numerous
9
She who was honored to have seven children[5] grows faint;
10
My mother, how terrible that you ever bore me—
11
Yahweh answered me:
12
“Will a man break the hardest iron or bronze?[8]
13
I will turn over your wealth and your treasures
14
And I will make you serve your enemies
15
Then I said,
16
When you speak to me,[11] I devour every word.[12]
17
I haven’t joined the crowd at their merry celebrations
18
Why must my pain be endless?
19
Here is what Yahweh said to me:
20
They will fight and attack you,
21
“I will save you from the power of the wicked
