Jeremiah
Chapter 6
(Passion Bible)
Jeremiah 6
Ready to read
1
“People of Benjamin, flee for your lives![1]
2
Daughter Zion,[5] you are so lovely and delicate,
3
As shepherds pasture many flocks all around a city,
4
In the morning, the soldiers will say,
5
Arise, let us go up[7] and attack tonight,
6
Here is what Yahweh, Commander of Angel Armies, says:
7
As a spring pours out its fresh water,
8
Learn your lesson, Jerusalem,
9
Yahweh, the Commander of Angel Armies, says:
10
If I speak to warn the remnant of Israel, no one will listen.
11
The fury of Yahweh has filled me,
12
Strangers will seize their homes,
13
“From the smallest to the greatest,
14
They[13] treat the wounds of my people
15
Although they have acted shamefully
16
Yahweh said to his people:
17
Yahweh said,
18
Hear well then, O nations,
19
Hear, O earth! I am bringing a catastrophe to these people,
20
“What use to me is all this frankincense[21]
21
So this is what Yahweh has said:
22
This is what Yahweh has said:
23
Armed with bows and spears,[27]
24
The people say: “We have heard the news, and our strength fails.
25
Don’t go out into the field;
26
My dear people, it’s time to mourn.
27
Yahweh said to me:
28
They are the most stubborn of rebels.
29
Though the bellows blow fiercely,
30
They are called ‘rejected silver,’
