¹ “People of Benjamin, flee for your lives![1]

² Daughter Zion,[5] you are so lovely and delicate,

³ As shepherds pasture many flocks all around a city,

⁴ In the morning, the soldiers will say,

⁵ Arise, let us go up[7] and attack tonight,

⁶ Here is what Yahweh, Commander of Angel Armies, says:

⁷ As a spring pours out its fresh water,

⁸ Learn your lesson, Jerusalem,

⁹ Yahweh, the Commander of Angel Armies, says:

¹⁰ If I speak to warn the remnant of Israel, no one will listen.

¹¹ The fury of Yahweh has filled me,

¹² Strangers will seize their homes,

¹³ “From the smallest to the greatest,

¹⁴ They[13] treat the wounds of my people

¹⁵ Although they have acted shamefully

¹⁶ Yahweh said to his people:

¹⁷ Yahweh said,

¹⁸ Hear well then, O nations,

¹⁹ Hear, O earth! I am bringing a catastrophe to these people,

²⁰ “What use to me is all this frankincense[21]

²¹ So this is what Yahweh has said:

²² This is what Yahweh has said:

²³ Armed with bows and spears,[27]

²⁴ The people say: “We have heard the news, and our strength fails.

²⁵ Don’t go out into the field;

²⁶ My dear people, it’s time to mourn.

²⁷ Yahweh said to me:

²⁸ They are the most stubborn of rebels.

²⁹ Though the bellows blow fiercely,

³⁰ They are called ‘rejected silver,’
