Zechariah
Chapter 3
(AMP)
Zechariah 3
Ready to read
1
And when they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted [that it was really He].
2
Jesus came up and said to them, "All authority (all power of absolute rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.
3
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations [help the people to learn of Me, believe in Me, and obey My words], baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
4
teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always [remaining with you perpetually—regardless of circumstance, and on every occasion], even to the end of the age."
5
The beginning of the [facts regarding the] good news of[1] Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
6
As it is written and forever remains in the [writings of the] prophet Isaiah: "Behold, I send My messenger ahead of You, Who will prepare Your way—
7
A voice of one shouting in the wilderness, 'Prepare the way of the Lord, [2]Make His paths straight!'"
8
[3] John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins [that is, requiring a change of one's old way of thinking, turning away from sin and seeking God and His righteousness].
9
And all the country of Judea and all the people of Jerusalem were continually going out to him; and they were being baptized by him in the Jordan River, as they confessed their sins.
10
John wore clothing made of camel's hair and had a [wide] leather[4] band around his waist, and he ate locusts and wild honey.
