Colossians Chapter 1 (NKJV Bible)
Paul, [1†]an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother,
To the saints [2†]and faithful brethren in Christ who are in Colosse: [3†]Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
[4†]We give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,
[5†]since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of [6†]your love for all the saints;
because of the hope [7†]which is laid up for you in heaven, of which you heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel,
which has come to you, [8†]as it has also in all the world, and [9†]is bringing forth fruit, as it is also among you since the day you heard and knew [10†]the grace of God in truth;
as you also learned from [11†]Epaphras, our dear fellow servant, who is [12†]a faithful minister of Christ on your behalf,
who also declared to us your [13†]love in the Spirit.
[14†]For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask [15†]that you may be filled with [16†]the knowledge of His will [17†]in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
[18†]that you may walk worthy of the Lord, [19†]fully pleasing Him, [20†]being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the [21†]knowledge of God;
[22†]strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, [23†]for all patience and longsuffering [24†]with joy;
[25†]giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of [26†]the inheritance of the saints in the light.
He has delivered us from [27†]the power of darkness [28†]and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,
[29†]in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
He is [30†]the image of the invisible God, [31†]the firstborn over all creation.
For [32†]by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or [33†]dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created [34†]through Him and for Him.
[35†]And He is before all things, and in Him [36†]all things consist.
And [37†]He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, [38†]the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.
For it pleased the Father that [39†]in Him all the fullness should dwell,
and [40†]by Him to reconcile [41†]all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, [42†]having made peace through the blood of His cross.
And you, [43†]who once were alienated and enemies in your mind [44†]by wicked works, yet now He has [45†]reconciled
[46†]in the body of His flesh through death, [47†]to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight—
if indeed you continue [48†]in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are [49†]not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, [50†]which was preached to every creature under heaven, [51†]of which I, Paul, became a minister.
[52†]I now rejoice in my sufferings [53†]for you, and fill up in my flesh [54†]what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ, for [55†]the sake of His body, which is the church,
of which I became a minister according to [56†]the stewardship from God which was given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God,
[57†]the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, [58†]but now has been revealed to His saints.
[59†]To them God willed to make known what are [60†]the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is [61†]Christ in you, [62†]the hope of glory.
Him we preach, [63†]warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, [64†]that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.
To this end I also labor, striving according to His working which works in me [65†]mightily.
