Faith-based organisations must be supported to drive educational sector – Prof Abdulai

The Acting Director General of the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has emphasised the importance of supporting faith-based organizations to advance Ghana’s educational sector.

He highlighted the significant role these organisations play in the country’s education system and stressed the need for additional support to further their impact.

In a conversation with Umaru Sanda Amadu on Face to Face on Channel One TV, Professor Abdulai advocated for enhanced partnerships between the government and faith-based organisations to strengthen the educational sector.

He underscored that a large number of schools and educational institutions in the country were established by religious organisations. These institutions, he noted, continue to make significant contributions to Ghana’s education.

“I must say the church has been very supportive and I do believe that the partnership that the government has with the church needs to be enhanced and needs to be strengthened…Most private universities are owned by the church…I think that the church needs to be supported,” he stated.
