Thousands of NPP supporters and celebrities joined the Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and the Parliamentary Candidate for the Akuapem North Constituency, Sammi Awuku, for the ”Ofie Walk” from Mamfe to Mampong Akuapem in the Eastern Region.

The walk was part of the official campaign launch of NPP’s Parliamentary Candidate of the Akuapem North Constituency, Sammy Awuku. Dr. Bawumia charged the party supporters to move to all corners of the constituency to propagate the message of the NPP.

The Ofie Walk is an initiative by the Parliamentary Candidate of the NPP for Akuapem North Constituency in the Eastern Region. It is to energise and mobilise the support base of the NPP in the Constituency and galvanise them for the campaign activities in the Constituency ahead the 2024 general elections.

The walk was also used to outdoor the campaign of the Member of Parliament for Akuapem North Constituency, Mr. Samuel Awuku. The 6-kilometre walk started from Manfe. Several party executives, including the National Chairman, the General Secretary, National Organiser, the National Youth Organiser some ministers, and other members of Parliament, joined the Presidential Candidate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for the ”Ofie Walk.”

Celebrities who joined the walk were former Black Stars Captain Asamoah Gyan, Actor Prince David Osei, music artistes Guru and Praye Tiatia.

The Ofie walk started at Manfe, through Amanokrom, Abotakyi, and ended at Mampong. The common message for the walk was ”It Is Possible”.

At Mampong, several leaders addressed the supporters gathered at the end of the walk. The message was simple: ”Move from house to sell the good news of the government to the people.” The Presidential Candidate of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, told the party supporters that his policies are transformational for Ghana’s future.

“Our competitors always see impossibilities, but we say it is possible. I believe the country can achieve whatever it sets its mind to do.”

Dr. Bawumia charged the party supporters to move to homes, nooks and cranny to sell the party’s campaign message to Ghanaians.

“Whatever the western world has achieved, can also be replicated in Ghana and Africa as a whole. It is possible.”

The Member of Parliament for the Akuapem North Constituency. Sammy Awuku, told the supporters to gird up their loins and work until victory is won.

“The Free SHS policy was described as an impossible mission by the opposition, but today they claim they are the ones who implemented it,” he noted.

Mr Awuku retorted, “Ghana has a future in Dr Mahamudu Bawumia. The elections ahead of us is an election between Ghana’s future and its past.”

The Flagbearer of the NPP, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, is in the Eastern Region as part of his constituency-focused nationwide campaign tour.
