POSITION: English and French Teacher

Oakbridge International School is seeking a qualified English and French Teacher to join our academic team in New Achimota. If you hold a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field, bring one to two years of teaching experience, and possess strong classroom management skills, this role offers the opportunity to develop young learners’ language abilities, assess their progress, and collaborate with supportive colleagues and parents.

Your Mission

You will take responsibility for preparing and delivering engaging lessons and classroom activities that align with the British National Curriculum. Your role includes creating a safe, stimulating, and supportive learning environment, assessing and monitoring pupils’ academic progress effectively, and supporting language development and communication confidence. Additionally, you will work collaboratively with colleagues and parents, participate in school programs and meetings, and engage in professional development activities.

Lesson Delivery

• You will prepare and deliver engaging lessons and classroom activities that develop English and French language skills.
• Aligning your teaching with the British National Curriculum (Pearson Edexcel) standards and learning objectives.

Classroom Environment

• You will create a safe, stimulating, and supportive learning environment where every child feels valued and ready to participate.
• Managing classroom behavior effectively, using positive strategies that keep students focused and respectful.

Assessment & Monitoring

• You will assess and monitor pupils’ academic progress effectively, using observations, quizzes, and assignments.
• Providing constructive feedback that helps students improve their language abilities.

Language Development

• You will support pupils’ language development and confidence in communication, encouraging them to speak, read, and write in both English and French.
• Differentiating instruction to meet the needs of beginner, intermediate, and advanced language learners.

Collaboration

• You will work collaboratively with colleagues and parents, sharing strategies and progress updates.
• Participating in school programs, meetings, and professional development activities.

What You Bring to the Role

Qualifications & Experience

• A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
• At least one to two years of teaching experience, preferably with primary students.
• Knowledge and experience in the British National Curriculum (Pearson Edexcel) is essential.
• Candidates living in or around Achimota will be highly considered.
