Job Summary

We currently seek a dedicated Finance Officer to join our team. This position places you at the heart of our financial operations, where you will process daily transactions, maintain accurate records, analyse expenditures, and ensure tax compliance. Your work will directly influence our ability to manage resources effectively and achieve our organisational goals.

Your Responsibilities

• Process daily financial transactions accurately and efficiently, ensuring all entries are properly recorded.
• Maintain proper and accurate financial records, keeping detailed and organised documentation for all transactions.
• Provide analysis of the company’s expenditures, identifying trends and opportunities for cost optimisation.
• Conduct re-audit reviews and assist in preparing monthly trial balances, supporting financial accuracy and accountability.
• Manage and monitor revenue collection performance, tracking income streams and identifying areas for improvement.
• Undertake monthly filings of taxes for VAT and Withholding Taxes, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
• Support the preparation of financial reports for management review and decision making.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless financial operations and support.

Qualification and Experience

To succeed in this role, you must bring a combination of academic qualifications, practical experience, and technical skills. Specifically, we require:

• Educational Qualification: First Degree or part qualification in Accounting or a closely related field.
• Experience: 1 to 2 years of experience in a similar role within an accounting function.
• Software Proficiency: Practical experience in MS Office, especially Excel, and financial systems.
• Accounting Software: Working knowledge of Sage Accounting software.
• Tax Knowledge: Good understanding and working knowledge of tax laws, including VAT and Withholding Taxes.
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to financial record keeping and accuracy.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse financial data and provide meaningful insights.
• Organisational Skills: Capacity to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
• Integrity: High level of honesty and professionalism in handling financial information.
