Community Streetscene Officer Jobs in UK 2026

Ready to keep Liverpool’s neighbourhoods clean, safe, and thriving? Liverpool City Council seeks Community Streetscene Officers within its Neighbourhoods and Housing Directorate. Skilled Worker visa sponsorship may be available for eligible candidates. If community engagement and local improvement excite you, this role offers genuine civic impact.

About the Role

You will be the key point of contact within a defined area of the city. This includes responding to issues raised by councillors, businesses, residents, and community groups. Additionally, you will manage projects and funding while enforcing regulations. You will also organise community events promoting sustainable environmental and social improvements.

Your main office bases will be Newton Road and the Cunard Building. Salary is listed at £37,000 to £41,000, as provided by the employer.

About the Hiring Firm

Liverpool City Council runs a neighbourhood model, with each area led by a designated manager. The model tailors solutions to local needs rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach. Until recently, street scene and waste services were delivered by Liverpool Streetscene Services Ltd, a council-owned company set up in 2016.

The council has since moved to bring these environmental services back under direct control. Officials have said they aim to improve cleanliness, boost recycling rates, and strengthen enforcement. It has also recruited extra streetscene staff, including 18 new officers focused on litter.
