POSITION: HR Manager
SRI EMAS, a reputable steel company based in Tema, is seeking an HR Manager to join our team. If you hold a degree in Human Resource Management, bring over ten years of experience preferably in manufacturing or heavy industry, and want to align HR strategy with production goals, this role offers the perfect platform to make a lasting impact on an African manufacturing leader.

Your Mission: Align HR Strategy with Production Goals
You will lead and implement an HR strategy that directly supports business and production objectives. Your focus will span policy development, performance management, recruitment, labour law compliance, employee relations, and workplace safety. Your ability to balance people needs with production demands will determine your success. Additionally, you will work alongside leadership to build a results oriented, accountable workforce that takes pride in delivering quality steel products to African markets.
Key Responsibilities
Your role spans strategic HR leadership, policy enforcement, talent management, and cultural transformation. Here is what you will tackle:
HR Strategy & Policy Development
- You will lead and implement HR strategy aligned with business and production goals, ensuring every HR initiative drives operational results.
- Developing and enforcing HR policies, procedures, and internal controls creates consistency and accountability across the organization.
Performance Management & Productivity
- You will drive performance management, discipline, and workforce productivity. Your assertive approach will raise standards and address underperformance directly.
- Supporting leadership in building a results oriented and accountable workforce transforms how people show up to work every day.
Recruitment & Talent Development
- You will oversee recruitment, onboarding, and talent development for both plant and office staff. Finding the right people and growing their capabilities remains central to your role.
Compliance & Industrial Relations
- You will ensure compliance with labour laws, company policies, and industrial regulations. Your vigilance protects the company and its employees.
- Managing employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes requires sound judgment, emotional intelligence, and consistency.
Safety & Workplace Culture
- You will promote a strong health, safety, and workplace culture within the plant environment. Safety is not a program; it is a value you will embed across the workforce.
What You Bring to the Role
We are looking for a candidate with the right education, extensive experience, and proven capabilities. Here is what you need:
Education & Certification
- A degree in Human Resource Management or a related field.
- A Master’s degree or professional certification such as SPHR, CIPD, or SHRM gives you a distinct advantage.
Experience
- A minimum of ten years of experience, preferably in manufacturing or heavy industry.
- Proven ability to manage workforce dynamics in a demanding operational environment where production pressures are real and daily.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of labour laws, employee relations, and HR best practices.
- Proven ability to manage conflict, conduct investigations, and administer discipline fairly.
- Experience driving performance management systems that differentiate high performers from low performers.
- Ability to challenge the status quo and push back when necessary to protect the company and its people.
