Overview
The Southeast of England is home to many busy hotels, restaurants and hospitality venues. Front-of-house roles are a great entry point to the UK hospitality industry — they offer practical customer-service skills, good experience and a route to longer-term work. Employers sometimes sponsor suitable overseas candidates.
About the role
Bobbing Apple Brewers Fayre, a hospitality employer in Kent, is recruiting day-shift front-of-house staff. Roles are for up to 20 hours per week and pay up to £10.52 per hour.
Key duties
- Greet and welcome guests with a polite, friendly manner
- Manage seating, reservations and check-ins
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest enquiries, requests and complaints
- Coordinate with management, housekeeping and kitchen teams to keep service running smoothly
- Use booking systems and point-of-sale or front-desk software
- Keep reception and public areas tidy and presentable
- Take payments and ensure bills are accurate
- Maintain health, safety and hygiene standards
- Help with general duties during busy periods
Who we are looking for
- Minimum secondary education (or equivalent)
- Previous hospitality or customer-service experience is preferred
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to stay calm under pressure
- Good spoken and written English to communicate with guests and colleagues
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends and bank holidays when required
- Physically able to stand for long periods and carry light items
- Eligible for UK visa sponsorship and willing to relocate if required
Pay and benefits
- Hourly pay up to £10.52 (day-shift roles; final pay depends on hours and experience)
- Share of tips and service charges where applicable
- Statutory holiday pay and other employment rights under UK law
- Access to NHS services once employed and registered
- Staff meals, uniform or uniform allowance and on-the-job training
- Opportunities for career progression and further training
Visa sponsorship and support
The employer may sponsor suitable overseas applicants under the appropriate UK visa route. Sponsorship eligibility and procedures vary, so please ask for a clear outline of the steps, documents required and expected timelines before accepting an offer. Meeting immigration, health and any criminal-record checks is essential and is the applicant's responsibility.
Support for African and Asian applicants
We welcome applications from African and Asian communities and other overseas candidates. If English is not your first language or you are applying from abroad, please tell us in your application if you would like additional support (for example: plain-language guidance, extra time at interview, written instructions or an interpreter). Employers and recruiters may be able to:
- Explain visa and sponsorship steps and likely timelines in simple terms
- List the documents you will usually need (passport, CV, references, any certificates)
- Advise whether your overseas qualifications are recognised or what training may be required
- Offer reasonable adjustments during application and interview stages
How to apply
Please submit a CV and a short covering note outlining your relevant experience and your availability. If you need visa sponsorship, state this clearly and include any questions about eligibility — the employer or recruiter will reply with guidance.
Important note
You must meet UK immigration, health and background-check requirements to take up a sponsored role. Employers can assist with paperwork, but securing a visa is ultimately your responsibility.
