POSITION: Nursery Teacher

Little Learners Nursery & Pre-School is seeking a Nursery Teacher to join our early years team in New Achimota. If you hold a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Education, bring one to two years of teaching experience, and possess strong classroom management and Jolly Phonics knowledge, this role offers the opportunity to prepare lesson notes, assess pupil progress, and work in a supportive, growth oriented environment.

Your Mission

You will take responsibility for creating engaging and developmentally appropriate learning experiences for young children using the EYFS British Curriculum. Your role includes preparing and delivering lessons, creating a safe and stimulating environment, assessing and monitoring pupil progress, and supporting social, emotional, and cognitive development. Additionally, you will maintain effective classroom management, prepare lesson notes and teaching materials, and participate in school programs and training sessions.

Your role spans lesson delivery, environment creation, assessment, development support, collaboration, and professional growth. Here is what you will tackle:

Lesson Delivery

• You will prepare and deliver engaging lessons and classroom activities that align with the EYFS British Curriculum.
• Using Jolly Phonics to build early literacy skills, helping children recognize sounds and letters.

Environment & Safety

• You will create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment where every child feels secure and ready to explore.
• Maintaining effective classroom management, using age appropriate behavior guidance strategies.

Assessment & Monitoring

• You will assess and monitor pupils’ progress effectively, using observations and simple assessments to track development.
• Preparing lesson notes and teaching materials that target specific learning goals.

Development Support

• You will support children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development through play based and structured activities.
• Then, helping children navigate friendships, express feelings, and build independence.

Collaboration

• You will work collaboratively with colleagues and parents, sharing observations and strategies.
• Participating in school programmes, meetings, and training sessions.

What You Bring to the Role

Qualifications & Experience

• A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
• At least one to two years of teaching experience, preferably in an early years setting.
• Knowledge of the British Curriculum (EYFS) and Jolly Phonics.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong classroom management skills for maintaining order while keeping a warm, positive atmosphere.
• Ability to prepare lesson notes and assess pupils effectively, documenting progress and next steps.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with very young children, parents, and colleagues.
