POSITION: Senior Agriculture and Field Operations Lead
Pemcoa Foundation is seeking a Senior Agriculture and Field Operations Lead to join our team in Wa. If you hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Rural Development, or a related field, and possess excellent planning, coordination, and reporting skills, this role offers the opportunity to coordinate district field teams, manage field level risks, and ensure inclusive, well documented implementation that aligns with organizational standards.

As Senior Agriculture and Field Operations Lead, you will not simply coordinate activities; you will translate workplans into practical field schedules, resolve bottlenecks, supervise district teams, and act on behalf of senior project leadership when required.
Your Mission
You will take responsibility for providing day to day leadership for field implementation across multiple districts in the Upper West Region. Your role includes translating workplans into practical schedules, coordinating implementation teams, monitoring progress, and resolving bottlenecks. Additionally, you will coordinate agriculture related demonstration activities, supervise district based staff, manage community entry processes, ensure proper documentation, monitor field level risks, and integrate gender equality, social inclusion, and safeguarding into every activity.

Your role spans field leadership, agriculture coordination, team supervision, stakeholder engagement, reporting, risk management, and inclusion. Here is what you will tackle:
Field Implementation Leadership
- You will lead weekly and monthly field planning processes, track implementation progress, and ensure district level activities are properly sequenced and effectively supervised.
- Resolving bottlenecks quickly to keep activities on time and to standard.
Agriculture & Demonstration Activities
- You will provide technical coordination for agriculture related field activities including farmer engagement, demonstration plots, climate smart agriculture practices, and food security initiatives.
- Working with District Departments of Agriculture, extension officers, and farmer groups to ensure interventions align with seasonal calendars.
Supervision of District Teams
- You will supervise district based staff, reviewing workplans, monitoring performance, and supporting problem solving.
- Promoting discipline, accountability, teamwork, and timely reporting among field teams.
Community Entry & Stakeholder Engagement
- You will coordinate community entry processes and support engagement with District Assemblies, traditional authorities, farmer groups, women’s groups, youth groups, and persons with disabilities.
- Representing Pemcoa Foundation at district, regional, and community level meetings when required.
Planning, Monitoring, Reporting & Documentation
- You will maintain accurate records of field activities, attendance sheets, meeting minutes, photographs, field reports, and stakeholder sign offs.
- Reviewing district reports for quality and contributing to donor reports, field briefs, and learning documentation.
Risk Management & Operational Discipline
- You will monitor field level risks including delays, logistical challenges, seasonal constraints, and stakeholder conflicts.
- Identifying risks early, proposing practical solutions, and escalating major issues when necessary.
Inclusion, Safeguarding & Accountability
- You will support the integration of gender equality, social inclusion, and safeguarding into all field activities.
- Ensuring meaningful participation of women, youth, persons with disabilities, and vulnerable groups.
What You Bring to the Role
Qualifications & Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Agricultural Extension, Rural Development, Natural Resource Management, Climate Smart Agriculture, Development Studies, or a related field.
- At least eight years of relevant professional experience in agriculture, rural development, field operations, livelihoods, climate resilience, or development programming.
- Proven experience leading multi district or multi site field implementation.
- Strong experience supervising field teams and coordinating district level implementation.
- Demonstrated knowledge of agriculture extension systems, farmer engagement, demonstration activities, and sustainable agriculture practices.
- Experience working with District Assemblies, Departments of Agriculture, traditional authorities, farmer groups, women’s groups, and youth groups.
- Strong planning, coordination, facilitation, problem solving, and reporting skills.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently across districts in the Upper West Region.

- Ability to communicate in at least one Upper West Region language is desirable. Knowledge of Dagaare, Waali, Sissali, Birifor, or Lobi gives you an added advantage.
