POSITION: Camp Supervisor

EcoPlanet Bamboo West Africa is seeking a Camp Supervisor to join our operations. If you hold a certificate or diploma in Hospitality, Logistics, or Facilities Management and possess strong organization skills with a commitment to early day readiness, this role offers the opportunity to enable our field teams to focus 100% on bamboo reforestation and land restoration.

Your Mission

You will take responsibility for day to day camp operations, including catering, facilities, and procurement. Your role ensures the on time deployment of crews by making sure everything from breakfast to bedding is ready before the sun comes up. You will oversee accommodation, sanitation, water supply, routine maintenance, meal service, stock control, EHS compliance, and administration. Your early start and reliable management will keep field teams fed, housed, and safe.

Key Responsibilities

Your role spans facilities management, meal service, stock control, safety compliance, and administration. Here is what you will tackle:

Facilities Management

• You will oversee accommodation, sanitation, water supply, and routine maintenance of essential camp facilities.
• Ensuring every structure remains safe, clean, and functional for daily use.

Meal Service

• You will ensure cooks are ready and breakfast is served before 05:30 daily, fuelling crews for early morning work.
• Coordinating lunch and dinner service to keep workers fed throughout long shifts.

Stock Control

• You will coordinate procurement, manage inventory for food and personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain clear documentation such as Goods Received Notes and stock cards.
• Preventing shortages that could disrupt camp operations or worker safety.

EHS Compliance

• You will enforce safety standards, conduct regular inspections, and maintain fire readiness in camp settings.
• Training workers on emergency procedures and ensuring fire extinguishers remain accessible and serviced.

Administration

• You will maintain organized records of occupancy, meal counts, and maintenance logs.
• Tracking costs and usage to help management budget accurately.

Working Conditions

• Camp based, on site presence required every day.
• Early start to meet 05:30 readiness for breakfast service.
• Occasional after hours work for urgent maintenance or deliveries.

What You Bring to the Role

Education & Experience

• A certificate or diploma in Hospitality, Logistics, or Facilities Management.
• Three to five years of experience in camp, hostel, or site management operations, demonstrating your ability to run remote facilities.

EHS Knowledge

• Working knowledge of EHS standards including food safety, fire safety, and sanitation.
• Ability to conduct inspections and enforce safety protocols without exception.

Skills & Personal Attributes

• Strong organization skills to manage accommodation, meals, inventory, and records simultaneously.
• Reliability for early day readiness, arriving before crews to have everything prepared.
• Integrity and consistency in enforcing camp codes of conduct, treating all workers fairly.
• Problem solving skills to handle urgent maintenance or supply issues after hours.
• Communication skills to coordinate with cooks, procurement staff, and field supervisors.
