POSITION: Bank’s External Auditors

Akim Bosome Community Bank LTD is inviting qualified Ghanaian audit firms to submit proposals for consideration as the Bank’s External Auditors for the forthcoming financial year, subject to the approval of the Bank of Ghana. If your firm maintains comprehensive knowledge of IFRS, ISA, the Companies Act 2019 (Act 992), and the Banks and Specialized Deposit-Taking Institution Act 2016 (Act 930), this engagement offers the opportunity to conduct independent audits, evaluate internal controls, and provide assurance and advisory services to the Board.

Scope of Work

Your firm will conduct an independent audit of the Bank’s financial statements in accordance with the International Standards on Auditing (ISA), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), the Companies Act 2019 (Act 992), and the Banks and Specialized Deposit-Taking Institution Act 2016 (Act 930). You will also undertake a comprehensive review of the Bank’s operational activities, perform test assessments of internal control systems, and render professional advice as required. Additionally, you will evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of our risk management systems and provide assurance and advisory services to the Board.

Key Responsibilities

Your engagement spans financial statement audit, operational review, internal control assessment, AGM presentation, and advisory services. Here is what you will tackle:

Financial Statement Audit

• You will conduct an independent audit of the Bank’s financial statements in line with ISA, IFRS, Act 992, and Act 930.
• Rendering an independent opinion on whether the financial statements present a true and fair view of the Bank’s financial position and performance.

Operational & Internal Control Review

• You will undertake a comprehensive review of the Bank’s operational activities, performing test assessments of internal control systems.
• Identifying any deficiencies and providing appropriate recommendations for enhancement.

Risk Management Evaluation

• You will evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of the Bank’s internal control and risk management systems.
• Providing professional advice as may be required by management or the Board.

AGM Presentation

• You will prepare and present the audited financial statements to shareholders at the Annual General Meeting in accordance with applicable statutory requirements.

Advisory Services

• You will provide assurance and advisory services to the Board as may be required from time to time.

What Your Firm Must Bring

Licensing & Membership

• Duly licensed in accordance with the Chartered Accountants Act, 1963 (Act 170).
• Members in good standing with the Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana) (ICAG).
• Duly recognised and approved by the Bank of Ghana to provide external audit services to financial institutions.

Experience & Expertise

• Demonstrable experience auditing community banks or other regulated financial institutions.
• Proven expertise in external auditing and in the application of IFRS and ISA.
• Comprehensive knowledge of auditing principles, accounting standards, and relevant statutes and regulations governing the financial services sector.
