Job Duties

• Verify customer supplied CAD designs against technical prints before manufacturing processes begin successfully.
• Create prototype component and assembly prints supporting projects from concept development through final production.
• Manage engineering documentation including job folders, project timelines, ECN requests, and manufacturing records carefully.
• Review and modify product drawings while applying industry accepted GD&T methodologies throughout manufacturing stages.
• Create and adjust two-dimensional blanks and three-dimensional CAD models using SolidWorks software.
• Prepare complete manufacturing job folders including inspection reports, ballooned prints, and bills of materials.
• Design restraint gauges and check fixtures supporting quality inspections and manufacturing accuracy improvements effectively.
• Collaborate with account managers, tool designers, and prototype technicians across multiple manufacturing projects regularly.
• Manage customer technical files while reviewing Engineering Change Notice requests and production impacts thoroughly.
• Support process improvement initiatives while training other CAD technicians and maintaining scheduling requirements efficiently.

Job Requirements

• Minimum two years of three-dimensional CAD experience using SolidWorks within manufacturing environments successfully.
• At least two years designing weld fixtures alongside excellent understanding of GD&T standards and methodologies.
• Strong ability to read CMM reports and generate accurate bills of materials for manufacturing operations.
• Knowledge of welding processes, standard shop equipment, and manufacturing production systems within industrial environments.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Windows operating systems.
• Excellent written communication, multitasking, organisational, and problem solving abilities under demanding production deadlines.
• Ability to provide technical feedback regarding product performance issues and potential manufacturing design risks effectively.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering remains preferred, although relevant experience may substitute educational qualifications.
