POSITION: Business Development Officer
DORAKO Fleet & Logistics is seeking a Business Development Officer to join our team in Westlands, Greater Accra. If you possess strong sales and negotiation skills, excellent communication abilities, and a good understanding of logistics and fleet operations, this one year renewable role offers the opportunity to drive revenue growth, build client relationships, and respond to tenders.

Your Mission
You will take responsibility for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in logistics, transport, and equipment rental. Your role includes developing strategies to grow the client base, preparing and delivering proposals, quotations, and tenders, negotiating contracts, and closing deals. Additionally, you will build and maintain strong client relationships, conduct market research, analyze competitors, respond to tenders, track contract performance, and achieve assigned sales and revenue targets.

Your role spans business development, client relationship management, market research, tendering, revenue growth, operations collaboration, reporting, and branding. Here is what you will tackle:
Business Development & Sales
- You will identify and pursue new business opportunities in logistics, transport, and equipment rental.
- Developing and implementing strategies to grow the company’s client base.
- Preparing and delivering proposals, quotations, and tenders.
- Negotiating contracts and closing deals.
Client Relationship Management
- You will build and maintain strong relationships with clients, becoming their main point of contact for key accounts.
- Ensuring high customer satisfaction and retention.
- Handling client inquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally.
Market Research & Intelligence
- You will conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities.
- Analyzing competitors and pricing strategies.
- Providing insights to support strategic decision making.
Tendering & Contract Management
- You will identify and respond to relevant tenders and bids.
- Preparing documentation and ensuring compliance with requirements.
- Tracking contract performance and ensuring obligations get met.
Revenue Growth & Targets
- You will achieve assigned sales and revenue targets.
- Monitoring sales performance and pipeline.
- Developing strategies to increase market share.
Collaboration with Operations
- You will work closely with the logistics and operations team to ensure service delivery.
- Aligning client requirements with fleet availability for trucks and equipment.
- Ensuring smooth onboarding of new clients.
Reporting & Documentation
- You will maintain records of leads, opportunities, and client interactions.
- Preparing regular sales and business development reports.
- Tracking key performance metrics and pipeline progress.
Branding & Promotion
- You will support marketing initiatives and brand visibility.
- Representing the company at industry events, meetings, and exhibitions.
- Promoting the company’s logistics and equipment services.
What You Bring to the Role
Education & Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Logistics, or a tertiary education in a related field.
- A proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- At least three years of experience (excluding national service) in business development or sales, preferably in logistics, transport, or equipment rental. Candidates without these years of experience will face automatic rejection.
- Fluency in English with strong written and oral communication skills.
