POSITION: Sales Engineer

Process & Plant Automation Ghana Ltd is seeking a Sales Engineer to join our team. Your Mission

You will take responsibility for achieving monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets set by executive leadership. Your role includes prospecting for new clients and business opportunities, maintaining and managing existing customer portfolios to guarantee a zero loss sale regime through a customer retention program, and operating within agreed budget limits. Additionally, you will develop in depth product knowledge, conduct industry analysis, perform customer installed base surveys, oversee sales orders in transit, meet weekly call and customer visit targets, and submit weekly reports.

Key Responsibilities

Your role spans sales target achievement, prospecting, customer retention, product knowledge, industry analysis, installed base surveys, order tracking, and reporting. Here is what you will tackle:

Sales Target Achievement

  • You will achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets as set by executive leadership.
  • Then, tracking progress against targets and adjusting strategies as needed.

Prospecting & Retention

  • You will prospect for new clients and business opportunities, expanding the customer base.
  • Also, Maintaining and managing existing customer portfolios to guarantee a zero loss sale regime through a customer retention program.

Product Knowledge

  • You will develop in depth knowledge of product features, functions, benefits, and usage trends.
  • Moreover, Demonstrating proficiency in product use, functionality, advantages, and disadvantages.

Industry & Installed Base Analysis

  • You will conduct industry analysis, serving as a resource to update Sales and General Managers on latest developments and new products.
  • Then, Conducting customer installed base surveys and preparing reports on opportunities, competitor information, and instrument performance.

Order Oversight & Reporting

  • You will ensure oversight on all sales orders in transit by liaising with Logistics and Finance departments to ensure timely arrival and avoid delayed deliveries.
  • Meeting weekly call and customer visit targets.
  • Submitting weekly reports to the Sales Manager on customer engagements, outcomes, and challenges.

What You Bring to the Role

Qualifications & Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related science programs.
  • A minimum of two to three years of relevant experience in a Sales Engineer role.

  • Maintain knowledge of the safe use of all tools and equipment.
