POSITION: Client Relationship Officers
Advans Ghana, a leading microfinance institution serving over 64,000 clients through 20 points of sale, is seeking Client Relationship Officers across all branch networks. If you hold at least a Diploma or Higher National Diploma, possess good mathematical ability and market appraisal skills, and enjoy spending 80% of your work time on the field engaging customers, this role offers the opportunity to prospect for clients, appraise loans, develop savings and deposit portfolios, and become a trusted stakeholder in your intervention zone.

As a Client Relationship Officer, you will not simply process loans; you will prospect markets, appraise clients, conduct recovery actions, and build trust with small business owners.
Your Mission
You will report to the Branch Manager or Team Leader, taking responsibility for prospecting clients, appraising loan clients, and monitoring and developing your loan and deposit portfolio. Your role also includes developing savings and deposits portfolios for target groups. You will spend most of your time on the field, organizing prospecting actions, introducing Advans products, following up on prospects, identifying client needs, encouraging deposits, assisting with loan applications, conducting loan appraisals, organizing recovery actions, and maintaining regular client contact.
Key Responsibilities
Your role spans commercial activities, loan activities, administrative tasks, and organization. Here is what you will tackle:
Commercial Activities
- You will organize prospecting and communication actions in markets and commercial areas by collaborating with colleagues and other staff.
- Introducing Advans Ghana products and services to the target population.
- Following up on prospects through regular contact with identified potential clients.
- Proposing new products and services to current clients.
- Identifying client needs and proposing new products or services to management.
- Encouraging clients to open deposit accounts while meeting targets.
- Ensuring outstanding customer service through a friendly environment, solid product knowledge, and high standards.
Loan Activities
- You will assist clients with loan applications.
- Conducting loan appraisal and collecting detailed information on the field, including personal, business, and guaranty details.
- Presenting loan requests to the loan committee.
- Organizing recovery actions in case of late repayment.
- Maintaining regular client contact by organizing field visits.
- Becoming a respected, active stakeholder in your intervention zone by spending most of your time on the field and building trusting relationships with small business owners.
Administrative Activities
- You will keep complete, detailed documentation on every client.
Organization & Control
- You will prepare a weekly plan with expected tasks and visits.
- Sharing information and best practices with staff.
- Reporting all job related issues to your immediate supervisor.
- Analyzing the client portfolio using operational reports.
What You Bring to the Role
Education & Experience
- At least a Diploma, Higher National Diploma, or Bachelor’s degree.
- A minimum of one year of working experience, inclusive of National Service.
- Good mathematical ability, market appraisal skills, and knowledge of accounting.
- Practical knowledge of micro and small businesses and the market environment gives you an advantage.
Performance Criteria
- Ability to meet quantitative and qualitative objectives determined by the operations department and branch manager.
- Ability to represent Advans Ghana professionally and dynamically.
- Ability to respect policies and procedures.
- Ability to manage information using the MIS and keeping records in client files.
- Good communication skills and a strong drive for initiatives.
- Ability to deliver clear, transparent, accurate information to clients.
- Ability to become a key stakeholder in your intervention zone.
- Ability to adapt communication depending on the clientele by speaking local languages and adapting your language level.
