Job Recruitment at AGROPAL West Africa Limited

AGROPAL West Africa Limited transforms West African fruits into premium dried products. Think mangoes, pineapples, coconuts, bananas, and papaya. These goods then travel to international markets. However, our mission goes deeper. We empower every single actor in the agricultural value chain. Consequently, we create inclusive sector growth. Our vision? A thriving agricultural sector across Ghana and West Africa that boosts economies, generates incomes, and enhances food security and health.

Why This Role Exists

We need a Community Relations Manager who will bridge AGROPAL with surrounding communities. Your primary goal? Ensure a consistent labour supply. Make AGROPAL a sustainable, viable employer for youth and women across our operational landscape. Without strong community ties, our mission fails. Therefore, your work directly impacts our survival and growth.

Your Seven Core Accountabilities

  • Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Management: Build trust based connections with host community leaders, farmers, traditional authorities, government officials, and NGOs. Serve as our official point of contact. Organize town halls and community dialogues. Identify key influencers who can champion our operations.
  • Community Development Programs: Design, launch, and monitor CSR initiatives that address real social and economic needs. Partner with local schools, health facilities, and community organizations. Then manage the community relations budget wisely.
  • Conflict Resolution & Grievance Management: Establish a transparent grievance mechanism. Receive, document, and resolve complaints quickly. Proactively spot tension points before they explode. Mediate disputes between AGROPAL, farmers, and community groups. Keep detailed records of every resolution.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Social Licensing: Protect our social license to operate. Follow national and international standards for community engagement, environmental impact, and human rights. Liaise with government agencies on community matters.
  • Farmer & Supplier Relations: Work alongside our sourcing team. Strengthen relationships with smallholder farmers and fruit suppliers who feed our supply chain.
  • Communication & Reporting: Develop engagement plans and awareness campaigns in local languages. Prepare regular reports for management. Manage our reputation within host communities. Collaborate with marketing to highlight our community wins.
  • Monitoring & Evaluation: Track every program’s effectiveness. Conduct social audits and community satisfaction surveys. Use real data to improve our strategies. Then prepare impact reports for management, investors, and regulators.

What You Must Bring

  • Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Psychology, Development Studies, Public Relations, Communication, Agriculture, Environmental Studies, or a related field. A Master’s Degree gives you a clear advantage.
  • Experience: At least five years of relevant work in community relations, CSR, stakeholder engagement, or social development. We strongly prefer candidates from agribusiness, food processing, or extractive industries.
  • Essential Traits: You must think outside the box. Work with limited supervision. Prove you can engage young people and women with low formal education.
  • Technical Skills: Know community engagement frameworks and CSR standards like ISO 26000, GRI, or IFC Performance Standards. Handle social impact assessments and project budgets. Use MS Office Suite comfortably.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent interpersonal communication. Strong negotiation and mediation abilities. Cultural sensitivity. High integrity. Leadership and teamwork. Ability to work under pressure. Fluency in English. Speaking Dangbe gives you a powerful advantage.
  • Working Conditions: Expect frequent travel to farming communities and production sites. Some weekends or after hours work during community events. You will work in rural and remote environments.
